The Waters of 1950s Hawaii (Pacific Dreams)

This is, hands down, the best Exotica sampler I can think of, even if it's missing essential people like Arthur Lyman and Robert Drasnin. Pay special attention to track 11 here, Martin Denny's "Jungle Madness". It's possibly my favorite exotica tune ever. There's no "madness" in the song at all. It's slow, spooky, dreamy and mysterious.

Please say thanks and please report any broken links.

Thank you so much for allowing someone who really just "found out" about exotica (as in a week ago I had heard of the genre title but didn't know what the heck it was) further her musical education with what other sites describe as a good Exotica 101 album. It's certainly making my statistics homework feel slightly less like drudgery and it's helping me forget about the mounds of snow outside. Many thanks!
